Poly B Replacement
What is Poly B?
Poly B pipe, short for polybutylene pipe, was a type of plastic plumbing pipe commonly used in residential water supply systems from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Poly B pipe has since fallen out of favor and it's use has been largely discontinued due to widespread reports of failures and leaks.

Why should I remove it?
Despite it's initial popularity, Poly B pipe began to exhibit significant problems over time. One of the major issues was that it became brittle and prone to cracking when exposed to certain chemicals commonly found in water supplies, such as chlorine and UV exposure. These cracks could lead to leaks and water damage in homes.
Installation day?
Some Poly B replacements can be done in one day, however some may take multiple days. The water will be off while we work, but if extra days are needed a bathroom and kitchen faucet will have water when we leave for the day. We understand this is your home, and you may want to shower!
Do I have Poly B?
Look at the exposed plumbing pipes in your home, such as those under sinks, in basements, or in crawl spaces. Poly B pipe is usually gray in colour. If your home was built between the 1970s to mid-1990s or underwent significant renovations during this time period, there is a higher likelihood that it may contain Poly B pipe.

No more need to stress when you're out of the home that the Poly B may have a leak! P3 prioritizes quality workmanship, using high-quality materials and techniques to ensure the longevity and reliability of your new plumbing system. That's why we offer a 5 year warranty on newly installed pipe.
